Multi Species Madness Fishing At The Dam!

We're fishing the outflow below a dam in search of big Striped Bass and anything else that wants to bite! Come along as we throw a variety of swimbaits in search of big bites. This style of fishing isn't for the faint of heart with heavy current, big whirlpools, and giant fish... except on this day... on this day it might as well be a pond. We had to work for our bites under these conditions but BIG fish still hit the deck! Fishing the outflow of a dam is all about current flow. Fish in these systems have adapted to eating on schedule with the dam's flow. When water is pumping, baitfish are disoriented in the current coming out of the pumps and gates, making them an easy meal for predators. When the water stops, so do the easy meals, causing the larger predator fish to go dormant. When we pulled up to the dam and saw there was zero flow of any kind, we knew we had our work cut out for us! Below you'll find links to the exact baits and equipment we used in the video.
