Donald Trump roasts magazine while responding to chat leak controversy

US President Donald Trump has brutally roasted the newspaper ‘The Atlantic’ during a press conference on Monday. While speaking at the press conference, Trump was questioned about a recent controversy surrounding his cabinet members using ‘Signal’ to text about war plans. An American journalist was added to a chat detailing the US military strike against Houthi rebels in Yemen. The White House confirmed The Atlantic’s Editor-in-Chief, Jeffrey Goldberg, was accidentally included in the chat days before the strikes. Mr Goldberg reportedly received a connection request on Signal from National Security Adviser Mike Waltz and was later invited to a chat called ‘Houthi PC small group’. The chat included several senior Trump officials, including Vice President JD Vance and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. President Trump said he didn’t know “anything” about the chat leaks, saying the reporter was telling him about it for the “first time”. Trump then took aim at the Atlantic, saying it isn’t “much of a magazine”. “I’m not a big fan of the Atlantic, to me, it’s a magazine that’s going out of business, I think it’s not much of a magazine,” he said. The leak is being investigated in what some are calling a serious blunder to US national security.
