The Department of Global Health DEI Committee invites you to attend a webinar on medical apartheid and structural racism in global health that will focus on two related issues: 1) intellectual property, Big Pharma, and trade agreements that have prevented access to affordable vaccines and other medications in the Global South; 2) the international debt crisis and austerity policies that have undermined public investment in health systems and social services across the Global South. A wonderful panel of national advocates and experts will help us understand and act on these issues. These include: Shameka Poetry Thomas: Fogarty International Global Health Fellow, Harvard University | University of Ghana- East Legon Maaza Seyoum: Senior Advisor for Alliances and Strategic Partnerships at Oxfam in the US, formerly Global South Convener, People's Vaccine Alliance Aldo Caliari: Senior Director of Policy and Strategy, JubileeUSA (a national coalition of religious, development and advocacy groups that works on debt, tax, trade and transparency policies to help end poverty) Arthur Stamoulis: Executive Director, Citizens Trade Campaign (a national coalition of labor, environmental, family farm, consumer and faith organizations working to improve US trade policy)
