This program took place on October 19th, 2021. How do we ensure we pay the "right" price when it comes to prescription drugs? Prices of prescription drugs in the United States have generated seemingly endless controversy and policy debate. Lexington resident Dan Ollendorf, PhD, Tufts Univ, has co-authored a new book, “The Right Price: A Value-based Prescription for Drug Costs”, that tackles the controversy head on. In his talk, Dan will summarize proposed price controls and their challenges, introduce the basics of formal value assessment, and argue for better integration of this approach so that America can pay for more of what works and less for what does not. This program is part of the Economics and Science Series, hosted by George Burnell. Dan's book is available through Porter Square Books.
