Mercedes-AMG GT-C by Nova Race: a modified & faster AMG GT4 for the Italian GT Cup class!

During a test day by Kateyama at Monza Circuit I was impressed by these two Mercedes race cars, apparently two AMG GT4, but they went conspicuously faster than standard GT4-class machines on the Italian track. And I had the confirmation at the end of the day by looking at the times they managed to set (in the 1'52''500 range). So I tried to ask the team, Nova Race, that is currently developing them for more info. These two Mercedes AMG GTs started their lives as GT4 race cars and they were fileded in the homonymous class of the Campionato Italiano Gran Turismo (Italian GT Championship) in the last seasons. Unfortunately last year there weren't many competitiors in the class so the guys of Nova Race wanted to raise the bar and make the AMG GT4s to deal with the competitors of the more populated GT Cup class. This is the battlefield of Porsche GT3 Cup (991 and 992 generations), Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo and Ferrari 488 Challenge cars. The Nova's Mercedes have been renamed 'GT-C' and, even if they're still under development, they've already received the green light to run in the GT Cup class. More will be unveiled of this car in the future but so far it stands out aesthetically by the bigger and more aggressive rear wing, bigger front dive planes and spoiler plus some extra aero parts here and there. On the mechanical side it has an improved braking system, a revised setup and it's around 40-50 kg lighter than a standard AMG GT4.
