A few years ago we created a webpage and video series called One Bed Veg. With ONE BED VEG, we thought it would be fun (and hopefully a useful learning tool) to show what we would do if we only had one 4'x10' vegetable bed (1.2 x 3 meters). This video shows highlights from that video series. It is packed with tips including timing when to plant what, how to extend the growing season, how to transplant vegetables, sow seeds, harvest leafy greens, carrots and beets. In total we grew 15 different herbs and vegetables and over 150 pounds of food. We grew tomatoes, peppers, carrots, peas, spinach, lettuce, squash, beans, beets, onions, celery, basil, cilantro, borage and marigolds. You can find the whole ONE BED VEG plan and the other videos in the series here: https://foodscapingutah.org/2021/03/1... We poured all of our planning, multi-cropping and season extension experience into it to see just how much veg we can pull out of 40 square feet! The plan includes most of our favorite vegetables and will hopefully provide lots of variety and bountiful harvests in spring, summer and fall, as well as some winter carrots, greens and squash, and maybe even some homegrown salsa/tomato sauce and frozen soups!
