I thought it was worthy of a quick video, but there's a tiny catch... You have to have seen the movie “The Matrix” for this to work. I literally saw that movie 8 times – 8 times in the theater when it came out, so I'm very familiar with it. One of my favorites for sure. So here's what you do... If you are feeling overstimulated, anxious, or agitated, I want you to focus on the end fight scene from the Matrix. There's this scene where dozens of bullets are fired at Neo, the main actor. He simply raises his hand, quietly says “no,” and slows the bullets down until they stop in front of him. He examines the bullets objectively, before they drop to the ground. Then of course he totally destroys the source of the bullets followed by an “incredible Hulk pose” at the end. Find a quiet space and visualize yourself in the main actor's place. The bullets represent any stress, chaos, negative emotions, or bad memories that are coming at you. Visualize these negative thoughts slowing down, just like the bullets did. Next, take a brief moment and explore the feelings with curiosity instead of judgment. Just acknowledge that they are there. Lastly, picture all those thoughts and feelings just dropping to the ground like the bullets did. Let them go. If you want to finish off the visualization technique with you in an “incredible Hulk” pose, that might be a nice touch to symbolize that you are ok. I really got a kick out of this technique and I know most people have seen the Matrix, so hopefully this adds another mindfulness exercise to your arsenal. If you found this video helpful, I've got many more videos that share simple, and advanced mindfulness techniques you can start using right now. Check out my playlist titled “Bipolar Tools That Help.” I want to give one last shout-out to my producer Reed Himes for not only sharing this technique with the community, but for being such a long-time supporter of Polar Warriors. We are completely funded by viewer donations... not by annoying YouTube ads. I want my viewers to get right to the good stuff and not be distracted by a commercial every few minutes. That being said, please consider joining Polar Warriors on Patreon. There's a link in the video description where you can become a channel producer, contact me directly, and get access to exclusive content. Take extra good care of yourselves and I'll be back soon with more Polar Warrior videos. -------------------------------------------------------------------- -My channel is completely dedicated to helping individuals, families, and friends who struggle with, or know someone living with Bipolar Disorder.
