Hardcore Utah Offroad Adventure! Earthcruiser Mitsubishi Fuso FG 4x4 Expedition Camper Overlanding

Taking it to the limits offroad in FIDO our 2000 Mitsubishi Fuso FG offroad Camper. This was the first leg of a three month trip through Southern Utah and Nevada. We hit Horse Canyon in the Book Cliffs just south of Wellington. It was high desert. In the middle of the night a Bear was rooting around in our camp. There were tracks all over the place in the morning. It's moments like this that I appreciate having a hard sided expedition vehicle! The next clip is from the Needles district in Canyonlands. We took the road north from the visitors center towards the Colorado River overlook. It was very slow going- rockcrawling over the sandstone really. We bumped into a couple of guys on BMW Adventure bikes. One of them had layed it down on the Gravel Road. Felt a bit bad for him but no injuries so onwards! We also explored Hack Canyon. It is a tributary and river access to the Colorado. It heads North off the Toroweap road about halfway from the highway to the rim. A great way to break up an otherwise long bumpy road with lovely freerange camping and an escape from the gaggle of Jeep Rubicons and Toyota 4Runners out at the overlook. It is also nice as it is much more sheltered if it is windy as is often the case. The last clip is from the Copper globe mine road along the rim of the San Rafael Swell. The views from up here are unreal! Such beutiful country and all in our backyard. When we built Fido I hand grand plans about Global Expedition and shipping it in a container to Columbia, and driving from Alaska to Tierra Del Fuego. But the more I explore my back yard the bigger the world gets. At this point we are more interested in flying to Argentina and buying a Hilux down there for a few months before selling it. So much easier than dealing with the hassle of taking a vehicle through a bunch of different countries. Can't wait to hit the lonely highway again soon!
