Tokatee Golf Club is a public 18-hole championship course located in the McKenzie River Valley of Oregon, about 55 miles east of Eugene. Designed by Ted Robinson and opened in stages between 1966 and 1969, the course is known for its "hidden gem" status, offering views of the Three Sisters Mountains and a serene environment secluded from highway noise. While the front nine is characterized by a more open, parkland layout, the back nine is widely considered the more challenging and scenic half of the course. Unique Layouts: The back nine is known for its variety, with no "filler" holes. It includes the 11th hole, which is essentially a tee box and green with nothing but water in between. Woodland Challenge: Many holes on the back nine, such as the double-dogleg 12th, require strategic placement to avoid mature fir, cedar, and maple trees that line the fairways. Signature Finish: The back nine concludes with a strong par-5, par-3, par-4 sequence. Hole 16: Often cited as the signature hole, it is framed by views of the Three Sisters and requires navigating a creek that crosses the fairway and a large pond protecting the elevated green. Hole 17: This is the shortest hole on the course, featuring a shot from an elevated tee box over water. #golf #tokateeGolfClub #golfing
