CRNI KAMEN (867 m), the PEAK of SUVA PLANINA, MOUNTAIN near NIŠ, SERBIA (subtitled)

Climb to the Crni kamen (translated as Black Stone), one of the peak of the mountain Suva planina, near Nis (Serbia), took place on the 20th of July, 2019 in the organization of the mountaineering society "Preslap" from Nis. For more information about “Preslap” following links can be usefull: http://www.preslap.rs/planinarsko-dru...   / pdpreslap   Starting point was in the spa near Nis, Niska Banja, located about 10 km from Nis. The mountain Suva planina is located in the southeast of Serbia, in the direction Belgrade-Nis-Sofia-Istanbul, 3 km from Niska Banja, 17 km from Nis and 256 km from Belgrade. The climb to the Crni kamen does not belong to particularly demanding even in winter conditions, when the trail is covered with snow. The peak, Crni kamen (867 m), is the first significant peak on the lower part of the mountain Suva planina. The first part of the ascent starts from the health trail in Niska Banja and ends at Koritnik, where you could have a little rest enjoying in beautiful view of Nis and Niska Banja. This part of the trail is steeply and partly tiled. Near by the viewpoint on Koritnik is the spot where paragliders starts their flight. Not far from there is the village Koritnik, famous for its old houses and memorial fountain built in 1931 at the order of King Aleksandar Karadjordjevic. Don't forget to fulfill your bottles with fresh water, it's the only source of drinking water on the trail. Only few kilometers down the trail, you may find the other source, source of medical water, placed deeply in the forest. Then you go on the second part of the trail with lower gradient. This trail leads to the other peaks of Suva planina: Mosor, Sokolov kamen and Trem. In the video you may see the spot with the sign from where the trail is separating into two directions, one that leads to Crni kamen and the other that leads to Trem. Perhaps only the first part has a slightly larger slope, from Niška Banja to Koritnik. In just three hours of light climbing you may reach to the peak Crni kamen. You need to break through few meters of thick vegetation to reach the peak. The view is truly magnificent and stretches towards the ridge of Suva planina, the area of Zaplanje, the neighboring mountain Seličevica and the city of Niš.
