During the day I visited five of Ravenna’s UNESCO World Heritage monuments, each filled with stunning ancient mosaics that are over 1,400 years old. From golden ceilings to incredibly detailed biblical scenes, every monument tells a piece of Ravenna’s fascinating history when it was once the capital of the Western Roman Empire and later the Byzantine Empire.
