Today we're joined by the producers and director of "The 21," an Oscar-shortlisted animated film that brings to life the story of 21 Coptic men martyred in Libya, using animation inspired by Coptic iconography. Created through a global collaboration of artists, the film seeks to honor the legacy of the martyrs and share their story with audiences worldwide. Film website: https://www.the21film.com Watch the trailer: • The 21 Trailer Mandi Hart (Producer) is a filmmaker and attorney specializing in creative content development and production and intellectual property. She worked in documentary film production before obtaining her J.D. She is also President of Cave Pictures Publishing, an independent publisher of spiritually resonant comic books and graphic novels. Mandi is a screenwriter and published author of various articles concerning film financing and copyright protection in the age of social media. Mark Rodgers (Producer) has been involved in the production of graphic novels, young adult fiction, computer games, concerts, documentaries and films. He has worked with many prominent artists and with entertainment companies such as Walden Media, Electronic Arts, Disney and Roadside Attractions. His work has addressed issues like human trafficking, animal cruelty, global poverty and restorative justice. Through his joint venture Cave Capital, Mark has contributed to the production of several films, including “Waiting for the Miracle to Come” and Martin Scorsese's “Silence.” He has also served as producer of an off-Broadway production of Babette's Feast, and as a producing partner of the only concert to be held annually in Central Park, Global Citizen. Tod Polson (Director) received both his BFA and MFA from The California Institute of the Arts under a scholarship from the Walt Disney Company. His student film, “Al Tudi Tuhak,” won several awards including the Student Oscar. Between degrees, Tod apprenticed under the Oscar-winning team of Chuck Jones and Maurice Noble. Tod has worked extensively as a director, designer, and teacher, helping develop a variety of projects all over the world. Some of these projects include the Emmy award-winning “El Tigre” for Nickelodeon, the Oscar-nominated feature “The Secret of Kells,” and the Golden Globe-nominated, “The Book Of Life.” He is the author of the animation design book, “The Noble Approach: Maurice Noble and the Zen of Animation.”
