Lytham Seafront at Church Scar

It's a shame the sun wasn't shining for our visit to Lytham seafront at Church Scar, but it is very warm! The footpath has only been open for a matter of weeks after the project was recently completed. Come with us for a walk along the seafront footpath between Lytham Green (where you'll find Lytham windmill) and Granny's Bay near the White Church on Clifton Drive. Looking for Lytham seafront parking? There's plenty at either end of this walk, both at Lytham Green and Granny's Bay. The old sea wall here was built in the 1890's so had served the area well. The new sea wall at Church Scar is part of a £22m, Environment Agency funded rebuild of sea defences in the area. It's designed to protect 2400 properties from flooding and erosion, for 100 years. It's an amazing job and brilliant piece of new public realm - it's a credit to all concerned. Well done team. This was filmed on Monday 10 August 2020.
