ARRL Field Day 2022. Ten Tec Scout 555 attempting to operate 1B QRP! MFJ Ham-tenna Whip.

This is my story of how I attempted, repeat attempted to operate ARRL Field Day for 2022. Usually I head down to the local club and participate in field day, and in addition I operate under my own call sign. Typically when I operate under my call sign its the new 1D class which is operating the home station with commerical power. But this year in the spirit of Field Day I wanted to operate 1B QRP portable under battery power. I have a TEN TEC Scout 555 which prior to the Yaesu FT-857D was my primary HF radio but now is relegated to a back up Rig situation. Some would definitely say the Scout is an excellent choice for situation like this. So next I picked up some MFJ Ham-tenna mobile whips. A mount and a copper pole. Radio Shack for the coax about 20Ft and a battery, a lead acid 12V 7ah rechargeable. So lets see how my 1B set up holds up! Tell us about your field day!
