See below for more info: Residenzpflicht If you are not a criminal you are supposed to move freely unless you are an asylum seeker in Germany, where, since 1982, there is the Residenzpflicht. It states that as long as the requirements for asylum are being processed, asylum seekers won't be allowed to move out of the district area where they are living without permission of the immigration office (Ausländerbehörde). They will not be allowed to study or to work. The processes can take up to, or sometimes more than, 10 year. The film shows the struggle of very political activists, who refuse to be seen on treated as victims, fighting for their right of freedom of movement. In order to show which problems are behind the current regulations, the film goes back to the colonial times, shows other regulations such as Dublin II and the Safe Third Country of origin as well as the role of the European Union's agency Frontex operating on the outer borders of the European Union. This documentary takes on the No-Border struggle from a perspective of the migrant. With interviews with several activists who are fighting against the Residenzpflicht, Frontex, and the general racist, capitalist, hierarchical system.
