The highest peak of Assam is Mount Tumjang, also called Seilkal Peak, which is over \(1,860\) meters high and located in the Dima Hasao district. Another peak, a nameless one in Cachar Hills, is sometimes cited at a slightly higher elevation of \(1,960\) meters, but Mt. Tumjang is the highest named peak.  Mount Tumjang (Seilkal Peak): This is the highest named peak in Assam, located in the Borail Range in the Dima Hasao district.  Elevation: The peak is over \(1,860\) meters above sea level.  Location: It is accessible via a trek from the village of P. Laikul.  Name origin: The name "Tumjang" comes from the Kuki dialect word "Tum," which refers to a rare tree found in the area.  Alternative peak: Some sources mention an unnamed peak in the Cachar Hills as the highest at \(1,960\) meters, but Mt.
