First Irish National Audit of Dementia Care in Acute Hospitals

The Irish National Audit of Dementia (INAD) The first Irish national audit of the quality of dementia care in Ireland's acute hospitals shows that Ireland does not yet have standardised care for dementia in acute hospitals. Diagnosing and treating acute illness has been the focus of these hospitals: the concept of simultaneously providing dementia care in this environment is relatively new. INAD was a joint initiative, carried out by: a) The Centre for Gerontology and Rehabilitation (CGR), University College Cork b) The Centre for Ageing, Neuroscience and the Humanities, Trinity Centre for Health Sciences, Tallaght Hospital Dublin c) HSE Quality and Patient Safety Directorate INAD was jointly funded by Atlantic Philanthropies and the Meath Adelaide foundation.
