David Martin is the CEO of Terra, a Miami, Florida-based real estate development company. As CEO of Terra, Martin has amassed a real estate portfolio of more than five million square feet of residential and commercial properties worth more than $8 billion. David Martin and Terra are involved in all real estate assets, including single-family homes, luxury condominiums, multi-family dwellings; hotels; office and retail space; and industrial properties. Martin oversees the organization's design, development, marketing, financing, construction, leasing, and sales. Under Martin's leadership, the Miami-based firm Terra has garnered widespread recognition and acclaim, particularly for its ongoing commitment to sustainable development, resilience measures, and overall design excellence. Since the firm's inception in 2001, David Martin has consistently excelled at assembling high-performance, multidisciplinary planning, design, construction, and engineering teams to maximize project success. Recent and notable examples of Martin's team-building work include Ruben and Isabel Toledo, Rene Gonzalez, William Sofield, Gabellini Sheppard, Rem Koolhaas/OMA, Daniel Buren, Chad Oppenheim, Bjarke Ingels, Renzo Piano, RDAI, West 8, Meyer Davis Studio, and others. David Martin, a native Floridian and longtime Miami resident, take a proactive approach to sustainability to ensure that Mami is built to last. Martin and the Terra team integrate resilient construction processes, transit connectivity, renewable energy, and green space into development projects whenever possible. Martin is also a member of several prominent organizations and boards. Martin is currently a member of the Advisory Board for the Masters of Real Estate Development and Urbanism (MRED+U) program at the University of Miami, a member of the Miami-Dade County Biscayne Bay Task Force, an active member of the Sea Level Rise Committee, and the Chair of the Neighborhoods Committee for The Underline (a 10-mile linear park project currently under construction). David Martin and the Terra team are devoted to the Miami community. This is evidenced by the company's longstanding involvement with numerous philanthropic, artistic, and civic-minded organizations, such as the YoungArts Foundation, the Freedom Tower, PAMM, Wolfsonian-FIU, Vizcaya Museums and Gardens, and the Miami Children's Health Foundation (which benefits Nicklaus Children's Hospital). Martin is a proud graduate of the University of Florida, where he earned his undergraduate, MBA, and law degrees. He serves on the UF School of Business's board of directors. Martin lives in Miami Beach and is married with two children.
