Augusta, also known as Augusta-Richmond County, is a city located in east central Georgia on the border with South Carolina. Augusta is also the easternmost of the Fall Line cities in Georgia as it is situated on the fall line of the Savannah River. With a population of 202,081 in 2020, the city is Georgia's third populous (after Atlanta and Columbus) though it is the anchor of Georgia's second most populous metro area with a population of 611,000. Augusta is best known as the host of the annual Master's Tournament held every April.
