The parish church of St Denys dates back to the 13th century, making it about 800 years old. It was built during the medieval period on a site that’s believed to have been used for Christian worship since at least the time of the Domesday Book (1086). The structure is largely medieval in design, constructed from local Northamptonshire ironstone with a typical layout of nave, north and south aisles, chancel, and a west tower. The west tower is from the 13th century, though it underwent restoration around 1810. Many window tracery details and other fittings reflect later 19th- and 20th-century work. Inside are several historic elements: A Jacobean pulpit (early 17th century), given in 1619. A lectern from 1867. A large oak chest, possibly 400–500 years old. Stained glass in the chancel from the 1930s, designed by Christopher Webb. The church is listed as a Grade II historic building, recognised for its special architectural and historic interest. Through its long history it has served as the parish church of Ravensthorpe, central to village worship, rites of passage, and community life from medieval times to the present.
