The name "Superleggera" is not new, you can find these labels on the brand's Uber GTs since the 1960s and it literally means "that it is very light. But lightweight is relative in this case, the DBS Superleggera weighing 1700 kg. But it is still 70kg lighter and at the same time a lot more powerful than the 'standard' V12 DB11 it is derived from. For me this remains one of the most beautiful cars of the moment. The design language is still clearly Aston Martin and even DB11. Equally elegant, but at the same time more powerful, more aggressive and wider than its lesser brothers. All the air vents, holes and passages in the bodywork also have a real purpose in terms of aerodynamics and downforce. At the c-pillar you will find what they call the 'Aeroblade', another intervention that provides air conduction, but mainly downforce. In this case, the air goes in along the blades and is pushed out at the rear. At the rear, the DBS is unique for its full-length LED taillights, with the fixed carbon spoiler, the 4 thick matte black exhausts and the double diffuser. 725 hp is certainly enough, but what makes this car especially unique is its torque. There is a torque, or pulling power, of 900 Nm available from 1800 rpm! This means that at any time between 1800 and 5000 rpm, this car wants to pull the stones out of the street. And that torque makes it possible, for example, to accelerate from 100 to 200 km/h in 4.2 seconds! The V12 is hard to beat in terms of soundtrack. This kind of block is becoming more and more of a rarity to listen to in 2021. This is truly grand touring. The DBS is a Super GT, comparable to the Bentley Continental SuperSports (W12), the Ferrari 812 Superfast, the absolute top class.
