Simon Crowley in the Pro Race Engineering Mk1 Golf, smashed through the 9 second barrier after years of issues, and years of me taking the pi55 out of him. (don't worry he gives as good as he takes). Issue after issue held the car back, and then there was the one, that Simon and his crew could not work out. Back in June they found the fault. The gear on the input shaft was spinning, which was causing issues with selecting gears. I think it mainly manifested when selecting 3rd. Finally the input shaft completely broke. Simon said it acted like clutch slip or a complete miss shift! A new gearbox was installed, and the results have been amazing. With a current PB of 9.56 at 145mph. There is still a misfire, which you can hear at the top end, but once sorted, this car could be in the 8's. Stay tuned to all my social media for updates.
