JEC 2026 Innovation Awards Finalist: Airborne APP for Airbus A350 Section 19 Preforms

Airborne, together with our partner Airbus, is selected as a top-three finalist for the JEC Innovation Awards 2026 (Aerospace – Process). This video shows how our Automated Ply Placement (APP) technology supports Airbus in Getafe (Madrid) to accelerate production of RTM carbon preforms for the A350 fuselage (reinforcement beams and door surround frame). APP combines automated cutting, robotic ply handling, machine vision and spot welding to deliver fast, precise preforms with minimal waste and high repeatability.
