Meet the Poet: Marcus Slease & Colin Herd. 9th June, 8-9pm We’re hosting two of Boiler House Press's published poets: Marcus Slease and Colin Herd. We’re so looking forward to welcoming Marcus and Colin for a live hour of poetry reading, discussion, and answering questions from the online audience. Be sure to tune in, all for free! Marcus Slease is a (mostly) absurdist, surrealist and fabulist writer from Portadown, N. Ireland and Utah. Marcus has lived all across the world, from Turkey to Poland, South Korea to the United Kingdom, and now lives in Spain teaching high school in Barcelona. His nomadic experiences have heavily influenced his written work. Marcus is the author of The Green Monk (Boiler House Press 2018), Play Yr Kardz Rights (Dostoyevsky Wannabe, 2017), and debut novel Never Mind the Beasts (Dostoyevsky Wannabe, 2020), among numerous other works. Colin Herd is a poet and lecturer in Creative Writing at Glasgow University. He has published numerous collections, including You Name It (Dostoyevsky Wannabe, 2019), Swamp Kiss (Red Ceilings Press, 2018), Click and Collect (Boiler House Press, 2017), and Oberwilding - with SJ Fowler (Austrian Cultural Forum, 2015) based on the life and work of German Expressionist Oskar Kokoschka. Colin’s work has been published extensively, by the likes of Granta, Modern Queer Poets Volume 1 (Pilot Press), The Forward Anthology, Dear World and Everyone In It and others.
