The first ever hydrogen-powered boat to cross the North Sea! | TU Delft Hydro Motion Team
We’ve reached our final destination Ramsgate, making history by becoming the first ever fully hydrogen-powered boat to cross the North Sea! After sailing 169,1 kilometres with only 12.3 kilograms of hydrogen, we met up with our land crew again, who drove approximately 250 kilometres along the coast. After a long trip on the open waters with some minor technical problems, which we were all able to solve remotely from our support vessel or by the pilots themselves, we arrived at 22:40 local time. We are so proud of what we have achieved, and are celebrating as a team!
