I've previously talked to you guys about whether or not you can be paid for while you're out of work in my video on temporary total disability benefits. I want to talk to you guys a little bit about maybe you're working light duty and you're making less money working light duty because you're getting less hours, you're missing a lot of time from work because you're going to doctor's appointments, or maybe they just don't have that much work for you. You may be entitled to what we call temporary partial disability, TPD for short. What this is, is the insurance company will make up the difference between, let's say, I guess the best example of this is, you make 1, 000 a week, right? If you weren't working at all, the insurance company would pay you 66 and two-thirds, which would be 666.66. Now you're working light duty, but they have less hours, so they're only paying you 500 a week, right? So TPD, temporary partial disability, makes up the difference between what your employer is paying you while you're working light duty and what you would be making if the insurance company was paying you because your employer had no work at all. So that additional 166. 66, these are TPD benefits. These benefits send your work comp insurance company your pay stubs from your employer. Request that they review them and issue TPD benefits if you're entitled to them. If you have any questions on TTD benefits TPD benefits, feel free to contact my office for a free consultation. We'll review these, discuss these with you, and see if you're eligible. If you are represented by me and you feel you're eligible for TPD benefits, send your pay stubs my way and let me take a look and get those over to the insurance company so that we can get you the benefits that you're entitled to.
