Our stay at Kinnotake Tonosawa included half-board with meals served at the first floor dining room. We were given a choice of 5pm or 7pm dinner seating and told the nine course seasonal kaiseki meal usually lasts for 2 hours. We opted for the 5 PM dinner seating to allowed for more leisurely time post-meal. During dinner, each dish was presented like a work of art, showcasing the chef’s meticulous attention to detail. Among the highlights, the deep-fried abalone stood out for its perfect crispness and rich oceanic flavor, while the Kurohana beef was a masterpiece of tenderness and umami depth. The service was warm and attentive, enhancing the overall experience. However, being asked to move to the bar for dessert felt somewhat disruptive to the otherwise seamless flow of the meal. Breakfast the next morning was equally impressive, offering a generous spread that left no room for hunger. The variety and abundance of food ensured we remained satisfied well into the afternoon, making it an excellent way to start the day.
