Ladies & Gentlemen, after a long wait, Records Stories is back! Bigger and better than ever! Focusing now on one uncommon Columbia dimestore label that many not many know about. Little focused research or attention has been shown to it and it's mutually agreed to be a rarity. Over two different platforms back in September, I personally asked a about 30 people from the most relevant & veteran collectors to the newer collectors, as well as several 78rpm focused groups, about this Clarion to make sure I got the status in the eyes of other collectors correct. Those who knew about a clarion's existence either confused it with previous & post labels of the same name, or assumed it was the Sears & Roebuck label Challenge. I Myself had even been guilty of that in the past. Though this one really had a considerable amount of notable features some unique, and from what I could find, I'm surprised no one had even tried to put up more than a page's worth of info about it anywhere. It was more of me finding little bits of info from biographies, observations of bloggers & uploaders, few precious magazine clippings, and studying the discographies of the catalogue blocks. All of which listed in the credits. This was meant to be completed months ago, but college & other stuff, as well as the book has been pretty taxing as of late. But I'm planning on more than just one episode this year. James' Channel: / @james-flynn1938 Closed Captions are fully scripted and not auto-english. LAST MINUTE NOTES: Pseudonymously speaking, I think I may have one or two that I didn't get correct, but despite Clarion's obscurity, 98% of it's discography is known with basic details which you can obtain easily from UC Santa Barbara, Abrams & Settlemier, or probably several different Rust books. The Patent information appear to be the same used across Harmony, Diva, Velvet-Tone, and possibly the Puritone and Ward's Trail Blazer. RE. 16588 Is Walter C. Hadley's patent of a then-modern Phonograph record, from 1921. While 1702564 is by William Forse--of the London division of Columbia--patent of the 1924, 1929 patent for the laminated process of 78s produced by Columbia. Some sources have stated or hinted that the only songs that are exclusive to Clarion is on B Sides of records. Maybe there is for some sections of the 5000, 11000, and 11500, but I found A sides that are also exclusively released. Also I have not found any 9000 series records online, so it's safe to say that they're sufficiently rare, possibly the rarest things on the label. Though I didn't see much price gouging for country stuff on Clarion online, Naturally there will be some desirable Country & Wester 78s issued on Clarion. Same for race.
