IWA Mid-South Wrestling - Stylin’ and Profilin’ - Highland, IN - 12.20.2003 Corporal Robinson vs. Mad Man Pondo vs Necro Butcher w/ Jim Fannin in a Thumbtacks Death Match Corporal hits Pondo with a Boot Camp, Bitch into the tacks and I jump into the ring to break up the pinfall attempt. Like a dummy, I attack Corporal with scissors which allows Pondo enough time to recover. Pondo chases me and as I try to get out of the ring, Pondo pulls off my shoe. I end up stepping on a thumbtack without my shoe on and almost pissed myself it hurt so badly. I hopped up onto the top rope because I was too scared of stepping onto another thumbtack. I don’t know what my plan was for getting down but it sure wasn’t Pondo and Corporal giving me a Ric Flair bump off the turnbuckles into the tacks. More tacks into my foot. THE WORST PAIN IN MY LIFE. Worse than the chairshot from Balls Mahoney. Worse than when I almost chopped the tips off two of my fingers when they got crushed in a closing garage door when I was 19. How some of these guys are able to do an entire match barefoot in the thumbtacks is beyond my comprehension. They are a helluva lot fucking tougher than I ever was.
