That's a question which perplexes Eric Strong, MD, creator of the Eric's Medical Lectures channel on the streaming video service. "Plenty of us are on Twitter, and there are plenty of physician blogs out there, but it feels like there are relatively few of us who avidly post on YouTube. And I don't understand why that's the case, because this is a wonderful platform for delivering free, open access medical education." Strong, a clinical assistant professor of medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine, has been posting videos on his free YouTube channel for medical trainees and medical professionals since 2011. "The original reason for my YouTube channel was so medical house staff who had been unable to attend conferences could still learn about what they'd missed," Strong told MedPage Today. Since its inception, the page has gained more than 57,000 subscribers and more than 4 million views. In the video on this page, Strong explains that his channel continues to not only benefit his viewers, but also himself, and that YouTube is a great way to spread knowledge and ask questions.
