Autonomous Robot Fleet at Munich Airport: DTAC Research on Air Cargo Handling

The Digital Testbed Air Cargo (DTAC) started in 2021. It is a research project funded by the German Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport (BMDV). As part of this project, a seven-week test phase for autonomous air cargo handling was conducted at Munich Airport in early summer 2024. This video has been created to shed light on the project specifics. Currently, another test phase is taking place at Stuttgart Airport. We will be reporting on this shortly. DTAC was recently extended until 2026 and provided with additional funding, allowing the continuation and intensification of the most relevant research areas.
