Rather than using different basic mods, there is only a single type in the Secondary and Melee mod sets. Makes it a little easier and slightly more straightforward. For Secondary weapons: Hornet Strike, Barrel Diffusion, Target Cracker, Pistol Gambit. Lethal Torrent is another that is high on the list of really good mods. If your secondary doesn't care about crit, drop Pistol Gambit and Target Cracker for the elemental/additional multishot mods. Secondary Arcanes follow much the same logic as with Primary Arcanes. For Melee weapons: Pressure Point, Berserker Fury, Reach, True Steel, Drifting Contact. If you aren't crit focused, drop True Steel for more elemental mods/atk speed. Stance mods can also change how you mod, but that isn't a big deal overall, builds will work whether the stance matches perfectly or not. Great upgrades is replacing Pressure Point with Condition Overload and true steel with Blood Rush. Haven't used many Melee Arcanes, so best advice is to test in Simulacrum and slowly scale it up until you are satisfied with the result. Or look at some YT videos. Hope this helps someone.
