Progress is a classic power endurance route on North Buttress at Kilnsey in Yorkshire first climbed by Jerry Moffatt in 1995 with very little rest and with 35 sustained moves of continuous difficulty leading to better holds before a pumpy final roof. I started trying the route in 2017 and got close in July 2019. Despite much effort, I could not regain my highpoint level with the 8th bolt that year before being shut down in the summer heat and the arrival of seepage. I had some good attempts in 2020 after a slow start due to the pandemic but had to wait until this year to seal the deal. A newly-discovered kneebar by the 6th bolt allowed a shakeout before the redpoint crux which made the route more attainable for me this year. I think the route holds its 8c+ grade as the kneebar is not hands off for me at least. The ascent starts at 09:30 but the best quality footage is of a close attempt a few days before, starting at 06:05 Credits: Thanks to Marsha Balaeva for footage starting at 6:05 Title pic - Marsha Balaeva
