About the Work "Four Poems" is a song cycle based on the works of Kim Sowol (1902–1934), one of Korea’s most beloved modern poets. This composition bridges two worlds, weaving the distinct textures and elements of traditional Korean music into the harmonic language of the Western string quartet, with vivid portrayal of each poem. Through four distinct movements, the piece explores themes of nature, longing, and nostalgia, creating a cross-cultural dialogue that honors the inherent rhythm and emotion of the Korean language.
