Não é segredo pra ninguém que eu sou um aficionado por Pantera. A obra faz parte da minha vida como um todo, sou muito familiarizado com as músicas. Contudo, se tratando de tocar, as coisas são bem diferentes. Há algumas semanas, me veio a vontade de tocar "A New Level". Fazia bastante tempo que eu não a tocava. Sentei na batera, me aqueci, toquei a música. A execução foi legal, me senti confiante pra gravar. Acionei o REC, e toquei. É isso que vocês estão vendo no vídeo. Quando cheguei e botei os arquivos no computador, fiquei frustrado. Passando aquele "microscópio" que todo músico sempre passa, encontrei vários pontos que eu sei que poderia fazer melhor, e acabei deixando esse vídeo de molho quase um mês. Mas hoje, com a cabeça fria, percebi que, fazendo isso, eu estava indo na contramão do que pra mim é o conceito mais importante sobre música, "a arte de expressar o sentimento através do som". Na minha forma de tocar bateria e ver a música, feeling, energia e pegada vão sempre estar acima de qualquer outro detalhe tecnicista. Por isso, hoje resolvi postar o vídeo da maneira que eu o fiz. Primeiro e único take, depois de um bom tempo sem executar a música, mas 100% imerso no universo do som. Sem nenhum tipo de edição ou soma. Captação do YAMAHA EAD10, somente o som real da bateria, sem adição de efeito ou trigger, sincronizado com o vídeo da câmera. Espero que gostem! Passing that "microscope" that every musician always passes, I found several points that I know I could do better, and I ended up soaking this video for almost a month. But today, with a cool head, I realized that by doing this, I was going against what is for me the most important concept about music, "the art of expressing feeling through sound". In my way of playing drums and seeing the music, feeling, energy and intensity will always be above any other technical detail. So today I decided to post the video the way I did it. First and only take, after a long time without playing the song, but 100% immersed in the universe of sound. Without any type of editing or sum. Recorded using the YAMAHA EAD10, only the real sound of the drums, without adding an effect or trigger, synchronized with the video from the camera. I hope you all like it!
