Name reflects the relationship this plant has with Bine, Spruce Grouse. As the berries being this birds favorite food! A common practice with this plant is to understand that bine, spruce grouse really loves these berries and harvest a bunch before the snow. Once the snow hits spruce grouse looses access to his favorite food, wait till they are good and sad in the realities of the winter. Then take your hands and create a bowl, and press your nice warm bowl shaped hands into the snow till you effectively melt a bowl shape into the snow. Allow this to harden to create an ice bowl that can hold some berries and after you fill this with those berries, if a spruce grouse, bine, sees them, it doesnt matter if you are sitting right in front of the berries they will fly right in for a good munch! Bine already really trusts his camoflauge, people like to call them stupid but I do not think its a matter of smarts, or lack thereof but rather the bird simply being very trusting of its camo! This is still an incredibly common practice to get super close to flocks of these birds.
