In November 2003, a filmmaker, Dave Riggs and a research team captured a female great white shark, named “Shark Alpha” in southwestern Australia. They tagged this healthy 9-feet female great white shark with a tracking device that recorded location, depth and temperature as part of the study, to investigate the movement of these animals along Australia’s coast. But something unexplainable happened. Scientists were shocked when they found out the shark’s “black box” on a beach. How did the tracking device end up here?
