Today I want to discuss if full body tracking is worth it for VTubers and for VTubing. I have seen a lot of VTubers throw 3D VTubing under the bus because it looks "uncanny" (which ya sometimes it does) or that Live2D is just superior. After using a Live2D model for over 3 years and finally debuting my 3D model, I have come to realize that I really enjoy VTubing in 3D. Maybe one of the reasons why there are not a lot of 3D VTubers is because they either lack the knowledge or resources on reaching their potential with 3D content. I think that there are a lot of benefits to streaming with both mediums (Live2D and 3D), but it all just depends on what it is you want to do in 3D. To me, I think full body tracking is totally worth it because I want to be more expressive on stream with my community. Before mocopi by Sony (which is today's sponsor of this video) VTubers were forced to either buy dedicated VR equipment, which isn't ideal if you don't want to constantly use a headset or don't have the space to set up base stations, OR you had to buy something extremely expensive like an xsens suite or rokoko. Now, thanks to mocopi, VTubers finally have a more easy and accessible way to VTube with their 3D model and get full body tracking. I noticed that mocopi has been given a lot of flack on it's tracking accuracies and Sony responded to this feedback and have been working carefully on improving their product. I think mocopi deserves more recognition because this product is finally making 3D VTubing more accessible to VTubers like me who just want to make content with our 3D model. I think a lot of the VRChat gurus are upset because they thought this product was specifically tailored to them, but I think this product is tailored towards VTubers and 3D content creators. Sony was kind enough to include OSC tracking in their software so we can connect it to VRChat and the fact that they want to keep improving their product shows me that they really do care about the VTubing and VR community. Thank you Sony for letting me try mocopi and I am very excited to start using this on stream and pushing the boundaries of 3D VTubing like never before. I hope my insight could open your perspective on mocopi and full body tracking because if you are serious about VTubing or making 3D content, but don't have a dedicated space or a lot of money to dish out on full blown VR equipment or motion tracking gear then this is a great tool to introduce you to 3D content. My goal is to one day host my own virtual show in 3D and have special VTuber guests. I think with mocopi, I am one step closer to reaching that dream. Thank you for watching my video.
