Why did we choose Gynecologic Oncology? We are often asked this question and here is our collective response. There are so few surgical specialties that allow you to perform surgery and then treat your patients on an ongoing basis. We all chose gynecologic oncology as our specialty because it combines advanced pelvic surgery and medical oncology, allows us the opportunity to provide continuity of care, and offers us the ability to enjoy long-lasting relationships. We enjoy being both the surgeon and medical oncologist. We have the opportunity to form a strong bond with the patients, first interacting with them at the time of diagnosis and continuing during treatment and beyond as they resume a normal life.
