Doug Casey is a well known author, speaker and Libertarian philosopher, who has long been known for his understanding of free market economics and the negative repercussions against societies that ignore market forces. He is also a visionary. In his 1993 book titled “Crisis Investing for the Rest of the ‘90s,” Doug wrote the following: "The rate of change has been accelerating exponentially and should continue to accelerate. Nanotechnology, already on the horizon, will almost surely be the next revolution. Notwithstanding the fact every improvement brings its own set of problems, life has improved for more and more people since the industrial revolution. Where will it lead? The most radical and most favorable outcome imaginable is also the most likely, and in the very near term. Nanotechnology promises not only to change the way you live but to change the entire nature of life as we perceive it. It’s hard to overestimate the degree or quantity of change it holds in store." In other words, when Doug read my newsletter that spoke of HydroGraph Clean Power’s legitimate nanotechnology potential, he had "open ears." While acknowledging that HydroGraph remains a risky proposition, he said he hates to say it, because it sounds so absurd, but despite the risk, he also thinks "it has upside potential of not 10x or even 100x, but perhaps something as grand as 1,000x." Doug also made a prediction about Donald Trump. Time ran out before we I had a chance to ask him what prompted him to make this alarming prediction. That will have to wait for another interview. Meantime, you can watch my discussion with Doug here. Doug Casey’s Bio Doug Casey is best known as a speculator (mainly in risky resource companies), economic /political commentator, and author of seven books. His first book, “The International Man”, sold scores of thousands of copies around the world, and was the largest selling book in the history of Rhodesia—a record that will never be broken. His second, “Crisis Investing” was on the New York Times bestseller list for 29 weeks, including 11 weeks at #1. His third book, “Strategic Investing”, came out in 1982. Since it was light on doom porn, and mainly recommended things like the old Nifty 50 and electric utilities, it only reached #7 on the NYT list. He’s currently completing a series of seven novels with co-author John Hunt. The novels reform the reputations of politically incorrect occupations. The first, “Speculator” was released in July of 2016; the second,” Drug Lord”, in September 2017; the third, “Assassin” out since July 2020 . “Terrorist” and “Warlord” are in the works. He has been a featured guest on hundreds of radio and TV shows (including David Letterman, Merv Griffin, Charlie Rose, Phil Donahue, Regis Philbin, Maury Povich) and has been the subject of features (mostly unfavorable) in periodicals such as Time, Forbes, People and the Washington Post. He is also the founder of the Eris Society, a non-profit organization that for 30 years brought together hundreds of the world’s leading thinkers on a wide range of eclectic topics related to the arts, sciences, technology, finance and politics. Jay Taylor His website, InternationalMan.com, sponsors a variety of publications and has a daily audience in excess of 160,000 largely high-net-worth investors and freedom-seekers. His youtube channel, “Doug Casey’s Take”, with co-host Matt Smith, has about 80,000 subscribers. Doug has visited over 155 countries, and lived in ten. He has been active in polo, skydiving, martial arts, scuba, auto racing, competitive shooting, and inducing small backward countries to radically freemarketize, delete their governments, and adopt AnCap values. He lives mainly between an estancia near Punta del Este Uruguay, an apartment in Buenos Aires Recoleta, and a house on the Chesapeake in Virginia. He enjoys smoking Cohiba Esplendidos anywhere. Best wishes, Jay Taylor
