Story and Protagonist: The expansion runs parallel to the early events of Saga Anderson's story in the main game. Players control Kiran Estevez, an agent from the Federal Bureau of Control (FBC) previously seen as a minor character in Control and the main game. She investigates the titular Lake House, a secret FBC research facility on the shores of Cauldron Lake, after its activities go dark and a catastrophic event occurs. The gameplay maintains the survival horror style of the main Alan Wake 2 campaign, focusing on atmosphere, exploration, and combat.
