www.AxxysRocks.com AXXYS is a 6-member band of kids that play rock 'n' roll like they mean it. They blow away the audience with heavy guitar riffs, driving, heart-pounding drumbeats, and amazing vocals that include soaring single note lines and harmonies. Their stage presence is riveting. Their raw energy ignites the audience with a blend of classic and contemporary rock for all ages. AXXYS won 1st Place in the Volcom So Cal High School Band Joust on June 30, 2008. They were also the youngest band to ever compete and make it to the finals for The Battle for Warped Tour in San Diego in August 2007. AXXYS has performed at the famous Whisky a Go Go in LA, The House of Blues, The knitting Factory in Hollywood, SOMA, The Jumping Turtle, Brick by Brick, The Chain Reaction, The Majestic Ventura Theatre, fund raisers for cancer and fire victims, the 24-mile marker for the San Diego's Rock 'n' roll Marathon and more. They have opened for national bands to include: Into Eternity, Destroy the Runner, and Joey Belladonna formerly with Anthrax. AXXYS opened for L.A. Guns at the Whisky the first night of the Sunset Strip Music Festival on June 26, 2008. On March 8, 2008 AXXYS was featured on KUSI's Good Morning San Diego. The band has taken the music scene by storm in the almost two years that they have been together, except Erik Griffin who recently joined his long-time friends as a sixth member. Erik was previously the lead singer for Light of Doom, another kid band that had forged their way into the "top 4" in last season's nationally televised competition show, The Next Great American Band. Though each member attends different schools in the San Diego area, they are great friends. As a by-product of this close-knit and impressive 6-pack, the parents have become family, which seems to only strengthen AXXYS's goals to stay together as a band and take their rock to the top.
