From Rusted Leaf Spring to Elven Short Sword (LOTR Inspired)

In this video, I take an old, crusted-over leaf spring and turn it into an Elven-inspired short sword straight out of Middle-earth. From cutting away the decay to forging the blade under hammer and flame, every step is about transforming something forgotten into something worthy of legend. I forge the blade to shape, grind in the bevels, heat treat for strength, and bring it to a razor edge. The design draws inspiration from the elegant, flowing lines of Elven weapons in The Lord of the Rings — graceful, lethal, and timeless. The goal was to create something that feels ancient… but alive. There’s something powerful about turning rust into something beautiful. Steel has memory. It’s been through years of tension and stress as a truck spring — and now it lives on as a blade that could hang on the wall of Rivendell.
