Trombone à Trois, formed in 2010, consists of Lauren Husting and John Maddox, tenor trombones, and Derek Crosier, bass trombone. All three members have advanced degrees in music performance from diverse and highly recognized learning institutions, and participate locally in groups from orchestra to jazz, classical to modern. While most trombone chamber groups prefer the quartet, Trombone à Trois is unique in its pursuit of music for the trio, believing that with only three musicians, there is 'nowhere to hide' and the result is a product both challenging and rewarding for performer and listener alike.
