In this video, our volunteer Fabio shows you how to tie the "Lunch Money" streamer fly. The original design is by Dan Bennet. This is a fly that you can use to target smallmouth, largemouth and peacock bass, crappies, trout, and other freshwater species that eat baitfish. Use a non-slip knot to tie this fly on your tippet. Materials list: Thread: 140 red or pink Hook: Gamakatsu B10S Stinger hook size 1 – 10. I used a size 4. Eyes: Orange, red or yellow dumbbell eyes in size small, medium, or large to match hook size and depth of water. Tail and body: Barred rabbit strip (you can use a black permanent marker to draw strips on a non-barred rabbit strip). I used a yellow, orange and black barred rabbit strip. Legs: Any rubber legs colors that you have. I used purple and orange tipped ones. Top wing: White laser dub (this will be on the bottom of the fly as you fish it) Bottom Wing: Fluorescent Blu laser dub (this will be on the top of the fly as you fish it) Cheeks: Red laser dub You can tie this fly in other color combinations to match baitfish colors in your area.
