Was the engine fully warmed up when you parked the car and shut it down? If the engine was not fully warmed up, it may be flooded. Never shut down a rotary engine without warming it up. Check your user manual for instructions on de-flooding the car. Or check out the DIY section of this forum for other techniques used by members to de-flood the engine. Otherwise if the car is still under warranty, you may want to have Mazda check it out. Reply if its flooded, thats one hell of some flooding that happen...i've cranked it over and over...ive spent a week and a half trying to get it working! im clueless.. Reply Then I assume you've been through these already to verify the engine isn't flooded? http://www.finishlineperformance.com...5-08-1883f.pdf https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p.... https://www.rx8club.com/showpost.php.... Usually one of these will get it going, unless there is something else wrong. Have you check to make sure the spark plug wire boots didn't come loose? How about disconnecting/reconnecting the ESS? Take out and clean/dry the plugs. While they are out, crank the engine with the pedal to the floor, for twenty seconds or so. Re-install plugs and connect the right coil to each plug (from front coil - FL, FT, RL, RT) After a good battery charge, try to start...... Good luck. unlikely here... but if it is not flooded or spark related... squirt some starting fluid into the little guy and see if it sputters or gets anything... just to see if its fuel delivery hey same thing happen to me if engine flooded you need connect the battery to another car take out the fuel pump fuse crank the engine untill you feel the compression again. replace the fuel pump fuse crank it again untill engine start. keep some pauses between cranks to save the starter motor Reply Cranks, won't Start. HELP!!! hey guys... My car has been acting up lately. About 3 weeks ago, I took off the muffler and then drove it like that till recently. Was driving to the store and at a stop light, the car just stalled then won't start. Then it will only start when cold but stalls when warm. 2 days ago, I started it again and it started but got a P0301 check engine code (flashing) and when i depressed the clutch, it just stalled. Put the muffler back on and now it won't start but cranks. I assume the spark plugs are flooded. Went to advance and they told me that I have to balance the engine to put new spark plugs on but I looked on all data and it doesn't say so. Anyways, I checked voltage on coils, getting proper voltage there. Getting proper voltage at the eccentric shaft position sensor. Not getting spark. What could cause this? Reply balance the engine before putting spark plugs in? talk about full of ****! are u sure u not gettinf spark? u need can find out with a 6 -7 bucks tool, thanks for the reply. haha he also mentioned that he worked at mazda before. I tried several spark tests and it seemed like i was not getting spark. Im changing spark plugs today and prob doing a compression test. This all happened 2 weeks after I took my muffler off. Maybe when it was off, it was reading a lot of oxygen so it was dumping fuel then making it stall. That is my belief. I put the muffler back on and reset the ECM by pressing the gas pedal 20x
