This video shows the construction of a Skillion Mono Pitch Roof and the application of the correct combination of products to achieve required continuous airflow of 25,000mm2 per linear metre through the roof cavity. 25,000mm2 must be applied to ALL Skillion Roof Designs irrespective of the degree of the roof pitch! To achieve passive ventilation through the roof cavity one must achieve airflow into the roof at eaves level by means of fixing a G2500N Over Fascia Vent to the top of the fascia. A G1275 Eaves Comb Filler should be used on t op of the G2500N Over Fascia Vent to repel nesting birds and insects. To ensure that the airflow is unimpeded by insulation being pushed up against the roofing underlay, VB20 Vented Battens should be fixed on top of every roof purlin. The BBS VB20 is made in 1.8m lengths and with a temporary adhesive fixing strip for ease of install) To allow the arm moist air to escape the roof cavity a VB20 Vented Batten is again installed underneath the barge flashing on the upper elevation of the mono pitched roof. Installing these products as instructed will create passive ventilation throughout the roof cavity and will ensure that the roof cavity is free of any condensation.
