THE POLYGAMOUS NATURE OF A MAN? In today’s society, there is a dangerous narrative being pushed — that men are “polygamous by nature” and therefore should be understood, excused, or even justified when they cheat. But let’s ask an honest question: If men are naturally polygamous and should be excused for it… Does that mean women should also be excused for the same behavior? We cannot claim “nature” for one gender and deny it for the other. In this teaching, I explain that: • Self-control is a fruit of the Spirit. • Character is stronger than appetite. • Faithfulness is a choice, not a weakness. • God does not lower His standard to fit culture. The idea that cheating is “natural” is not a biblical truth — it is a cultural excuse. Marriage was designed with responsibility, discipline, and covenant in mind. We are not ruled by impulses; we are called to rule over them. If we justify unfaithfulness under the banner of “nature,” we remove accountability and weaken the foundation of families.
