In Defence of Recognition

A video documentary created by Dr Natalia Slutskaya – Senior Lecturer in Human Resource Management (Business and Management) – presents the findings of a study on working-class men doing “dirty work”. The documentary explores the working lives of refuse collectors and street cleaners – people whom we meet daily on the streets of London. The film forms part of the project’s effort to provide participants with a chance to share their experiences and to voice their concerns. Findings of the study have been published in a journal paper by Natalia Slutskaya, Annilee M Game and Ruth Simpson, titled Better together: examining the role of collaborative ethnographic documentary in organizational research in Organizational Research Methods (2016).
