Kleiner Alteiner Wasserfall Arosa Switzerland Waterfall: https://s.geo.admin.ch/va1zf5368xo2 The Kleine Alteiner waterfall is one of two cascading waterfalls near Arosa that plunge from the Schiesshorn massif towards Isel and Welschtobel. It is a popular destination for hikes through the wild nature of the Grisons mountains. Hike and approach The waterfalls are best viewed as part of a circular hike from Arosa (Untersee or Isel). Route: The trail leads from the ARA Arosa or the Müliboden car park, initially along the flat Welschtobelbach stream. A small wooden bridge takes you to the left side of the valley, from where the ascent to the Kleiner Alteiner waterfall branches off. Difficulty: The hike is classified as moderate (T2/T3). Duration & distance: A typical circular tour (Arosa – Kleiner Alteiner waterfall – Alteiner waterfall – Arosa) takes about 3 hours, covers just under 10 km and involves an ascent of around 530 meters. Combination: If you continue climbing, you will reach the large Alteiner waterfall (1,890 m above sea level) and finally the Alteinsee lake. Practical information Starting point: Untersee Arosa or Müliboden car park (subject to a fee). View: The waterfalls are particularly impressive when viewed from the ascent from Isel towards Schiesshorn. Season: The best time to visit is from June to October.
